Griffin was born to parents Clint and Leslie McElroy. His father “Clint McElroy” worked as a Host, news director, and sports director at various West Virginia radio stations like WKEE-FM, WWBA in Florida. He is currently doing podcasting with his three sons. He was married to “Leslie McElroy” in 1977, who died on 21st May 2005. Clint later married “Carol McElroy”, in 2010.

Griffin has two elder brothers “Travis” and “Justin” McElroy. Travis born on November 8, 1983, is currently 35 years old and Justin born on November 8, 1980, is currently 38 years old. To answer the question “how tall is Griffin McElroy”, he is 5 Feet 10 Inches tall.

His father gave all three of them nicknames. Eldest Justin was ‘Juice’ because he was a drooler, middle one Travis was ‘Scraps’ because he was tough as scrap iron, and youngest McElroy, Griffin was ‘Ditto’ because he looked like a comic character named ditto.

His father “Clint McElroy” and eldest brother “Justin McElroy” were also an alumnus of “Marshall University”.

Griffin and Rachel got married on 7 December 2013. The wedding occurred in Austin, Texas and griffin’s father Clint officiated the wedding.

Rachel is around 4 year older than Griffin. She attended “University of Missouri, Columbia” from 2000-2004, studying “B.A. English” and then attended “University of Chicago” from 2006-2007, for her “M.A. Humanities”. Currently she is a grant writer for “Austin community college” and co-hosts the podcast “Wonderful” with Griffin. Earlier she also used to co-host a bachelor fan cast titled “Rose Buddies” with Griffin.

They became the proud parents of a baby boy named “Henry McElroy”, who born on 25 Nov 2016.

Griffin McElroy Polygon and Joystiq:

In his junior year at Marshall, Griffin got a job writing news articles for a video game website run by AOL called “Joystiq”. The next year Griffin was brought on by MTV as a local Journalist to cover his home state of West Virginia during the 2008 United States presidential election.

In 2012, Griffin, his brother Justin McElroy (who was the managing editor at Joystiq) and Joystiq’s Editor-in-chief ‘Christopher Grant’, all three left Joystiq to create “Polygon”, a gaming website from ‘Vox Media’.

Griffin initially filled multiple roles like (weekend editor, producer, reviews editor, contributor, deputy news editor, podcast editor etc) before finally becoming the ‘Senior Editorial Producer’ at Polygon. He was also responsible for Polygon’s YouTube shows like ‘Monster Factory’, ‘Car Boys’ and ‘Touch the Skyrim’. Polygon currently has 769 K subscribers on it’s you tube channel.

In 2018, both Griffin and Justin decided to resign from their position at Polygon in order to focus on their already flourishing podcasting careers and families.

My Brother, My Brother and Me:

A comedy-advice podcast on ‘Maximum Fun’ website featuring Griffin and his two brothers, Justin and Travis. Over the course of the show, the brothers answer two types of questions: the real questions, in which listeners of the show write in, asking the brothers for their advice on a certain situation; and the more humorous, ridiculous questions from Yahoo! Answers, which are also sent in by listeners. The brothers often refer to the latter as “Yahoos.

The Adventure Zone:

It’s an actual play podcast in which Griffin, Justin, and Travis McElroy play Dungeons & Dragons and other role-playing games with their father, Clint. He is the ‘Dungeon Master’ for the game and also edit and compose music for the podcast on ‘Maximum fun’.


A weekly podcast hosted by Griffin McElroy and his wife Rachel McElroy. The podcast features the hosts talk about things that they we’re very enthusiastic about, and also talk about some submissions from their listeners, who share things they are excited about. The podcast launched September 6, 2017, as a replacement for ‘Rose Buddies’.

Til Death Do Us Blart:

An annual show that drops every American Thanksgiving, in which griffin and his brothers Justin and Travis, Guy Montgomery and Tim Batt watches and discuss Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 movie. According to their fun resolution if any one of them ever dies, he will be replaced by a new host who must join the others in continuing the dark ceremony, so that the podcast will outlive them all.

Griffin McElroy Banana:

In 2017, when the gameplay trailer for “Sea of Thieves” was unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3-2017), the players were seen taking out a banana and eating it unpeeled for health restoration.
On the same day, Griffin who was a Video Producer at “Polygon” at that time, tweeted about the video clip, noting that the banana was eating both unpeeled and stem first.

Later that evening, Polygon tweeted a clip from Sea of Thieves followed by footage of McElroy eating an unpeeled banana (shown below). Within 48 hours, the tweet was gone viral on facebook and twitter with over 200 K views on Polygon official facebook account (@polygon) and gained over 10,000 likes and around 6000 retweets on their official twitter account (@polygon).

Griffin’s vore fetish joke really takes off when he invented a fictitious vore-based podcast called “Big Gulp” at the beginning of Episode 229: A Premium Swallow but according to the MBMBAM wiki, the first mention of vore on the podcast is at 45:56 in episode 195..
Later they recorded an episode of “Big Gulp” for a live audience, which was released as a bonus episode for “Maximum Fun” website’s donors.
